Easy-to-Follow Guide to Registering for the BCS Test Successfully

The Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination is one of the top-ranking exams in Bangladesh, opening doors to civil service jobs under the government. Every year, tens of thousands of aspirants work hard for limited spots. To kick off your journey, you must successfully finish the application process. Here’s a comprehensive guide to help you apply successfully.

Step 1: Visit the Official Website

To start your application process, visit the authorized site of BPSC: www.bpsc.gov.bd. This is the primary portal for BCS exam announcements and applications. Keep away from unofficial websites.

Step 2: Download the Circular

Find the latest BCS exam circular under the “Notices”. The circular contains necessary information, such as requirements for application, application deadlines, examination syllabus, and other key instructions.

Step 3: Check Eligibility

Examine the conditions, which include age limits, educational qualifications, and citizenship requirements. The regular age limit is from 21 to 30 years for general candidates, but exceptions apply for specific groups such as freedom fighter descendants or disabled individuals.

Step 4: Register Online

Navigate to the official application form (Form 1). Enter all necessary fields, such as basic information, academic qualifications, and job preferences. Recheck for any errors. Providing false information can lead to disqualification.

Step 5: Upload Documents

You must upload a latest copyright-sized photograph (300x300 pixels, file size below 100 KB) and your signature (300x80 pixels, file size below 60 KB). Check that these are as per the guidelines mentioned in the circular.

Step 6: Pay the Application Fee

After uploading your application, you will be given a User ID. Use this ID to settle the application fee through Teletalk SMS services. The fee is usually 700 taka for general candidates and BDT one hundred for others. Follow the SMS format provided in the circular.

Step 7: Confirm Submission

Once the fee is paid, you will get a confirmation SMS with a receipt number. Keep this ID for future reference. Go back to the application portal to confirm the payment status.

Final Tips

File your application well before the deadline to stay away from last-minute problems.

Print a copy of the submitted form for future use, such as for getting the admit card.

By adhering to these instructions, you can submit your form successfully for the BCS exam and progress towards your desired position in the Bangladesh Civil Service. All the best!
